If English is not your first language, you must provide evidence of your English language skills. For a complete list of the English language qualifications we accept, including where we are able to waive an English condition based on certain local qualifications, please see our English Language requirements.

Botswana

The University welcomes applications from students holding an average of B in Masters Degree from a Botswanian institution.
Cameroon
Undergraduate
The University of Stirling normally requires school leavers from Cameroon to complete a Foundation Year for entry to the University. Find out more about the University of Stirling's Foundation programmes.
Additionally, the University will welcome applications from students who have completed one year of relevant university study.

The University welcomes applications from students holding a minimum of 12/20 in the following qualifications:

Gambia
Undergraduate
School leavers are required to complete a Foundation Year for entry to the University. Find out more about the University of Stirling's Foundation programmes.
Applications are welcomed from students who have completed one year of university study.

Ghana
Undergraduate
High school leavers with WAEC (West Africa Examinations Council)/WASSCE (West African Senior School Certificate Examination) are eligible to apply for direct entry to the University if they have a minimum of 5 grades at B or above, and no grade below C. Where there are individual subject requirements, applicants must have a minimum B in that subject or equivalent. Find out more about our Foundation and pathway options. (Updated 9 November 2022)

Kenya
Undergraduate
The University welcomes applications from students holding the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with a minimum Grade B or above with any required subjects at B+ (see individual course pages for details).
Students with IB, A-Levels or the American High School Diploma can also be considered for direct entry. Please see individual course pages for requirements.
Postgraduate
The University welcomes applications from students holding a minimum second class, lower division Bachelor degree or a minimum of 50% in a Bachelor's Degree.
Mauritius
Undergraduate
The University welcomes applications from students holding a minimum of BBC at A level for entry to most undergraduate programmes. Some programmes may stipulate subject-specific entry criteria.
Postgraduate
The University welcomes applications from students holding a minimum of a second class, upper division (minimum 60%) Bachelor's degree (Honours).
Nigeria
Undergraduate

Students with a National Diploma (two years of post-school study) with ‘Upper Credit’ or higher (CGPA 3.0/4.0) may be eligible for direct entry to year 1 of undergraduate courses.

Postgraduate
We welcome applications from Nigerian students holding a minimum of a second-class, lower division bachelor's degree (CGPA 2.50/5.00) for entry to most of our Masters-level courses.
South Africa
Undergraduate
The University welcomes applications from students holding an average of Grade 5 (60%) across 5 subject areas within the National Senior Certificate.
Postgraduate
The University welcomes applications from students holding a minimum of 60% in 4 year Bachelor's degree (Honours).
Tanzania
Undergraduate
The University welcomes applications from students holding a Grade B in either the ACSE, COHSC or EAACE.
Postgraduate
The University welcomes applications from students holding a minimum of second class, lower division in Bachelor's degree.
Uganda
Undergraduate
Completion of Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) with average grade of B

Minimum of Second class lower division or B in bachelor's degree

Zimbabwe
Undergraduate
The University will accept school leavers with the Zimbabwe General Certificate of Education at Advanced Level directly into Year 1, as equivalent to GCE A Levels. Specific requirements are listed on each course page and are typically around BBB.
Postgraduate
The University welcomes applications from students holding a minimum of second class, lower division Bachelor (Honours) degree.
