Accommodation for postgraduate students

We offer a wide range of comfortable and secure postgraduate residences on our beautiful 330-acre campus, in nearby Bridge of Allan and in Stirling’s vibrant city centre. We prioritise new students applying for accommodation.

When to apply for postgraduate accommodation

You can apply for postgraduate accommodation as long as you have received and accepted a conditional or unconditional offer to study at the University. To confirm your place in accommodation, you'll be required to pay a £300 rent pre-payment which is then deducted from your first rent payment. More information is in our accommodation allocation policy.

Postgraduate accommodation contracts run for 49 or 51 weeks. For postgraduate students starting in January, the contracts run for 50 weeks. This means you can stay in your room over the Christmas holiday period if necessary.

  • Friarscroft (from £176.92 per week, £8669.08 for the full contract period)
  • Riverside Quay (from £172.00 per week, £8772.00 for the full 51-week contract period)
  • Centro House (from £180 per week, £9180.00 for the full 51-week contract period)
  • Carters Yard (from £185.00 per week, £9435.00 for the full 51-week contract period)

September 2023 accommodation guarantee

For new students starting in September 2023, we’ll guarantee you an offer of University-managed accommodation in your first year of study if you meet the eligibility criteria. All you need to do is confirm your place at Stirling and apply for accommodation within the timeframe we give you. You'll normally be allocated a single study bedroom in a University residence. The University has 2,800 bed spaces, over 18 properties, and your accommodation may be located either on-campus or off-campus.

January 2024 accommodation availability

We will have four properties available for postgraduate students starting in January 2024:

  • Pendreich Way (from £92.91 per week, £4645.50 for the full contract period)
  • Thistle Chambers (from £100.98 per week, £5049.00 for the full contract period) 
  • Lyon Crescent (£112.31 per week, £5615.50 for the full contract period) 
  • Beech Court (from £176.92 per week, £8846.00 for the full contract period)
