Safety and security
Feeling safe and secure is understandably a top priority when it comes to choosing where you’ll study, and in 2023 The Complete University Guide has listed Stirling as the safest student city in Scotland. Police Scotland have also described our campus as one of the safest in the country, and we go the extra mile to look out for our students both on and off campus by providing a 24/7 security team and a range of support services, such as the SafeZone app and our Safe Taxi Scheme.

Campus security team
The University’s Campus Security Team operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Contact us by calling our emergency or non-emergency numbers:
Emergency: Extension 2222 (internal phone), 01786 467999 (from a mobile)
Non-emergency: Extension 7003 (internal phone), 01786 467003 (from a mobile)
Accommodation Operations Assistants
Our Accommodation Operations Assistants (AOAs) run residences on a day-to-day basis and can be found at university managed residences’ reception desks. They are generally your first point of contact if you have any problems or issues. The AOA team provides cover to all residences 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Tackling sexual misconduct
At the University of Stirling, we are committed to preventing and tackling sexual violence and other forms of sexual misconduct such as harassment or stalking. Find out how we’re working with the Students' Union to achieve those goals through our #ErasetheGrey campaign.
