General scholarships

Students from England, Wales, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man can get a scholarship covering fees for their Honours year of study.

This scholarship provides a £1,000 cash award per year (for Years 1–3) for eligible students from England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland. 

The EU Undergraduate Scholarship provides fee discounts and costs for EU students studying at the University of Stirling.

Our International Undergraduate Scholarship offers eligible students £2,000 per year (£8,000 over four years) towards the payment of annual fees.

Our GEMS International Undergraduate Scholarship offers eligible students £2,000 each year (£8,000 over four years) towards the payment of annual fees.

A 20% tuition fee waiver for Transnational Education (TNE) students who transfer from an official TNE partner of the University to study at Stirling for a year or more at an undergraduate level.

Financial support for 16 to 25 year olds in Scotland who face barriers to higher education.

Our Undergraduate USA Scholarship offers eligible students £5,000 per year (£20,000 over four years) towards the payment of annual fees.

Our Undergraduate Canada Scholarship offers eligible students £5,000 per year (£20,000 over four years) towards the payment of annual fees.

Our Undergraduate South Africa Scholarship offers eligible students £5,000 per year (£20,000 over four years) towards the payment of annual fees.

Our Undergraduate Zimbabwe Scholarship offers eligible students £5,000 per year (£20,000 over four years) towards the payment of annual fees.

Our Undergraduate United Arab Emirates Scholarship offers eligible students £5,000 per year (£20,000 over four years) towards the payment of annual fees.

Our Undergraduate Malaysia Scholarship offers eligible students £5,000 per year (£20,000 over four years) towards the payment of annual fees.

Our Undergraduate Hong Kong Scholarship offers eligible students £5,000 per year (£20,000 over four years) towards the payment of annual fees.

Our Undergraduate Norway Scholarship offers eligible students £5,000 per year (£20,000 over four years) towards the payment of annual fees.

The Stirling Welcome Scholarship provides a £1,000 cash award to all undergraduate students from England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland who enrol as a student on a course delivered at the University's Stirling campus.

£5,000 Stirling Success Scholarship package for all eligible students from England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland commencing studies from September 2026.

We are offering all UK or Republic of Ireland students with a first-class Honours degree (or equivalent) a £2,000 scholarship to study full-time on any taught Masters course. The award is offered on a pro-rata basis for students who are studying part time.

The EU Postgraduate Scholarship provides a fee discount for EU students studying at the University of Stirling.

We are offering fully funded places on a selection of on-campus Masters courses in partnership with The Data Lab and the Scottish Funding Council.

Commonwealth Shared Scholarships are for candidates from developing Commonwealth countries, looking to study selected postgraduate Masters courses.

This scholarship provides a discount for the first year of a full-time or part-time Masters degree for students who have completed their undergraduate degree at the University of Stirling.

The Society offers two one-year scholarships available for postgraduate study in the USA (usually at masters’ level).

This scholarship is open to full-time, on-campus, self-funding students who are living in mainland China, Hong Kong (SAR), Japan, Macau, South Korea, or Taiwan.

This scholarship is for the first year of a full-time Masters degree, and is available to international students who have graduated from our partner, Singapore Institute of Management, with a University of Stirling undergraduate degree.

This scholarship is awarded for the first year of a full-time Masters degree and is available to international students who have graduated from our Hong Kong partner, Lingnan University, with a University of Stirling undergraduate degree.

Chevening Scholarships is the UK government's scholarships programme for international students studying Masters degrees.

The University of Stirling and the Fulbright Commission offers funding for postgraduate studies in health, wellbeing or sports science. 

A tuition fee waiver on any full-time on-campus postgraduate taught course at the University of Stirling for eligible international students.

The Aziz Scholarships Programme offers 100% tuition fee scholarships to support British Muslims to study for a Masters at partnered UK universities.

£7000 tuition fee waiver for the first year of a Masters degree and is open to full-time self-funding students who are classed as international for tuition fee purposes starting in September 2025 or January 2026.

The agency-nominated Master’s programme is one of three Master’s programmes offered by the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission.

Commonwealth PhD Scholarships are for applicants from least developed countries and fragile states looking for full-time doctoral study at a UK university.

The Scottish Graduate School of Social Science's Scottish Doctoral Training Partnership provides studentship awards each year to students to allow them to do a funded PhD in the social sciences.

Grants available to persons who have been resident in Stirlingshire, either currently or in the past, for a period of at least 5 consecutive years or have been born there.

Sanctuary scholarships are awarded to postgraduate, access and undergraduate students who are in the UK and have applied for asylum or are staying in the UK as refugees or on humanitarian grounds.
