Common application

If you’re coming from the USA and want to study in the UK, this is the most common way to apply.

We accept applications through the Common Application if:

  • you’re liable to pay tuition fees at the international rate. See our fees page for more information.
    and
  • you’re not applying via UCAS or direct to us

Application process

Follow our step-by-step guide to applying via the Common Application.

1

See the undergraduate courses we have available.

2

Read our 'Before you apply' information to help you through the decision making process.

Check the entry requirements of your chosen course along with entry requirements specific to applicants from the USA.

3

Start your application on the Common Application website. We don’t charge an application fee for completing the Common Application.

4

Make sure your writing supplement reflects your course choices. The Common Application Help Centre gives further information on applications and frequently asked questions.

5

Submit your application by the appropriate deadline - 30 June.

Deadlines

The deadline for applications is 30 June. Make sure you submit your application and all supporting information by your deadline. You may still submit an application after this date, however you’re more likely to have your application accepted if you apply by the deadline.

Contact our international team at international@stir.ac.uk to check that a late application will be accepted.
