Creating Engaging Practice
This module will teach you the key principles of practice in designing engaging coaching sessions for skill and performance development.
This module provides students with a practical understanding of key principles of practice design to facilitate skill and performance development through the provision of engaging sessions.
A minimum of a second class Honours degree (2.1 preferred) or equivalent in a relevant subject. You must also have five years' appropriate work experience in coaching, and evidence of successful completion of sport-specific coaching qualifications is expected.
By the end of the module students will have had the opportunity to:
- Use appropriate research, theory, and reflection to critically evaluate practice design and strategies and develop personal coaching practice.
- Devise innovative coaching practice through critical evaluation and application of relevant theory, research and literature.
Delivery and assessment
The module is delivered entirely online through pre-recorded presentations, learning materials, asynchronous discussion and tutorials.
Assessment will include class discussions and a case study.
